My daughter turned 4 a few months ago and decided she wanted to have an opinion about her food. If you’re a parent you understand how extremely frustrating this can be. All of her favorites have now turned into “ewww” or “I don’t like that…” Oh the parent life.

I’m definitely not an expert when it comes to the kitchen and a lot of experiments have gone bad. BUT I will say with practice I’m actually getting pretty good at cooking. Plus, I really enjoy doing it. I remember sitting with my grandmas learning and helping in the kitchen. So because of them I will say thank you!

One thing with children, is that they really care what their food looks like. All about the presentation. If it doesn’t look delicious they won’t even try the damn food. Literally I made homemade pizza and the crust wasn’t perfect shape and my children wouldn’t even take a bite. I’m not even kidding… Also, if my 4 year old doesn’t help make the food we eat, she will put up a fight.

This. Is. My. Life.

So I wanted to take something sooo easy and cheap that everyone loves into something gourmet. Pizza pinwheels! Duh! The kids can help, it’s simple, plus I added a little touch to it that even my husband devours it. Hence why I call them ‘Crack’. They are so addicting that even my neighbors kids ask me when I’m making them again. Because they are such a huge hit, I’m here today to share with you all!

  • 13.8oz Pizza Dough Roll
  • 2 Tablespoon Butter
  • 1/2 Teaspoon Salt
  • 1/4 Teaspoon Garlic Powder
  • 1 Teaspoon Parsley Flakes
  • 1 Bag of Shredded Mozzarella Cheese
  • 1 Jar of Pizza Sauce
  • (optional) 1 Bag Mini Pepperoni {or your choice of toppings}

#1} Preheat. Preheat oven to 425°

#2} Prep the dough. Lay the pizza dough on a cutting board and carefully stretch out the dough until a large rectangle shape. You want to dough to be fairly thin.

#3} Add the toppings. First take a spoon and scoop out some of the pizza sauce onto the raw dough. Be sure not to over do it on the sauce but make sure it is evenly spread out from corner to corner. Evenly sprinkle as much cheese and add your toppings. So simple!

#4} Roll it up! Start from the smaller end. Tightly roll it until the end.

#5} Cut. Cut the roll vertically into small 1/4 inch pieces (see photo). Carefully take each slice and lay them flat on a cookie sheet. Be sure to spray the tray with cooking spray beforehand!

#6} Sauce time. In a separate bowl melt the butter, then add garlic powder, salt and parsley flakes. Mix well. Evenly spread the butter mixture on top of the pinwheels.

#7} Bake it. Place on middle rack in oven for 15 to 17 minutes until golden brown.

#8} Cool & Serve. Let it stand for 5 minutes for cool down. Then get ready for a delicious treat!
